Graduation process

For new students enrolled in the Fall 2020 semester or earlier:

• However, students in the master's course majoring in Computer Security must complete 14 credits of designated courses.

 
 

Requirements for thesis/dissertation

Doctoral students or integrated master’s and doctoral students must publish at least two SCIE papers (including SSCI) as the first author or receive final approval for publication before requesting the evaluation of their thesis/dissertation.

  • 1) Papers that are included in the JCR CS list organized by the department as a result of presentation at international academic conferences in the field of computer science are accepted as equivalent to one paper published in the SCIE.

    2) Papers listed in the top 10% of each sector as a result of publication at SCIE or presentation at academic conferences are accepted as equivalent to 2 papers.

    3) Papers listed in the top 20% of each sector as a result of publication at SCIE or presentation at academic conferences are accepted as equivalent to 1.5 papers.

    4) Papers published in a KCI-listed Korean journal (only 1 paper allowed) are accepted as equivalent to 0.5 papers.

    (Interim measures: The above standards 1) through 4) apply to all students enrolled in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.)
